only Soul act of its caliber in Manila today. The 8-piece band have
been known to get even the most sedate audiences movin and groovin all
across the city.

"Nice Place", their fist single, was released in 2005 under Terno
Recordings. The ear-catching song was accompanied by an animated video
which gained them heavy rotation on music channels. In april of the
same year, the band was named MTV's rising star. Their debut album,
"Soul Up!" includes eleven original tracks, with a bossa-influenced
mix of "Nice Place".

Juan Pablo Dream was also included in the compilation "Hopia, Mani,
Popcorn 2". Their track was a playful take on "Bato sa Buhangin",
originally by Cinderella, a popular 70's Pinoy band.

In 2008, they began working on material for the self-titled "Juan
Pablo Dream", their second album. The band expressed tribute to the
60's and 70's legends. Soul was given a pinoy twist, especially in the
carrier track, "Tibok ng Puso". To enhance their motown flavor, back
up singers were added to the lineup. The pressing, which includes
smashing original tracks and 3 covers, was put out by Rookie Records
in December 2009.

The band delivers true soul sauce, in their sound and in their style.
Whether it's with their distinct originals or sassy covers, anybody
who's got a body will find it hard to resist the groove this band has
to offer.

The band's musical influences include: Ray Charles, The Who, Otis

Celebrities can't escape the eye of the public, more so when they get married. People want to know every detail, from the engagement to the wedding to the honeymoon. And celebrities don't fail in giving what the public wants. From lavish public weddings to intimate ceremonies, celebrity couples create media frenzy from the “I do” of the proposal to the “I do” of the wedding. Here's a list of the biggest celebrity weddings in the country.

1. Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo

Their love affair started with a TV fantaserye and continued reaching greater heights in real life. Four years after getting together, the couple finally got engaged at Antulang Beach Resort in Dumaguete CityThe media was buzzing but the young stars kept their plans on the low. It took a year for the couple to finalize all their plans for their dream wedding and up until the very day of the occasion, only a few people were informed about the preparations being made. Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo pulled off what most Hollywood weddings try to achieve – a quiet ceremony away from all the shutterbugs. On 28 April 2009, Santos and Agoncillo tied the knot at San Juan Nepomuceno Church in San Juan, Batangas, in the company of their families and closest friends all dressed in white. On the day of the wedding, Santos shined with a glow of joy while walking down the aisle as Agot Isidro sang "Runaway." The wedding was officiated by Fr. Tito Caluag, the couple's spiritual adviser and friend. After the ceremony, the couple and their guests were taken to a private beach for the reception. Another reception was held in Manila a few days after the wedding, for guests who were not able to join them in Batangas and for the media who wanted to interview the newlyweds. A special coverage of the wedding, from the preparations to the reception, was shown on ABS-CBN.

2.LUCY TORRES AND RICHARD GOMEZ

It seemed as though Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres were trying to prove that opposites attract and love defies differences. Gomez was a sought-after matinee idol and movie star, while Torres was a simple young lady from the province of Ormoc who appeared in a beauty commercial. The two were different in terms of lifestyle and character but love brought them together and they decided to make it last forever. The two are like coffee and cream in color, but together, they are one of the best-looking couples in Philippine showbiz. They tied the knot at the Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Ormoc City. The budget for the wedding was reported to be big enough to produce a movie and the entourage was star-studded. There were three pre-wedding receptions to accommodate family, friends, fans, and Tores' hometown friends. On the day of the ceremony, Tores donned a spaghetti-strap dress with train and a long veil. Since the wedding was open to the public, it could not compare to the solemnity of other weddings but it is still on top of the list because it is rare to witness two beautiful people who are completely in love with each other.

3. CLAUDINE BARRETTO AND RAYMART SANTIAGO

Santiago was the typical Filipino heartbreaker. Barretto had just recovered from the tragic death of a lover. Their union seemed unlikely to many but Raymart and Claudine proved that it was meant to be. They both came from showbiz families and have known each other for a long time. They worked for rival networks but nothing could keep them apart. Santiago and Barretto tied the knot in 2006 and their union was dubbed the wedding of the year took place at the country club of Tagaytay Highlands. Barretto was ravishing in an ecru gown by Randy Ortiz while Santiago looked debonair in his black suit. While reading the vows they had written, the bride and groom became emotional and moved some of the guests to tears. The wedding was star-studded but the ceremony itself was not open to the public and was only viewed through exclusive coverage by ABS-CBN. At the reception, the newlyweds and their guests were serenaded by some of the country's top singers including Gary Valenciano and Kuh Ledesma.

4. SUNSHINE CRUZ AND CESAR MONTANO

They have a huge gap in age but they proved the cliché that age does not matter, especially in matters of the heart. Montano is known as one of the better actors in the country and Cruz belongs to a showbiz clan. When the two met on a movie project, Montano was charmed by Cruz. He was persistent in courting her and she was swept off her feet. Montano was Cruz's first boyfriend and their love affair led to a blissful wedding.

5. LANI MERCADO AND BONG REVILLA

The union between long time sweethearts Bong Revilla and Lani Mercado was a momentous event for the couple as it also signified the beginning of Revilla's political career. The couple wed on 25 March 1998, a day before the deadline for filing of certificates of candidacy for the local elections. Their nuptial was Filipiniana themed in line with the celebration of the centenary of Philippine independence. It was a lavish affair attended by prominent people from showbiz and politics. The bride arrived in a Spanish-era horse-drawn carriage while wearing a Maria Clara-inspired gown. The groom rode a white horse and sported a grand general's uniform, recalling one worn by Emilio Aguinaldo when he founded the First Philippine Republic. It easily became the crème de la crème of weddings that year by uniting showbiz and politics. The couple lived together for 12 years before tying the knot and some of their older children were part of their entourage. There were rumors of the wedding being a campaign strategy for Revilla's political aspirations but the couple insisted that it was purely an expression of their love.

6. ASSUNTA DE ROSSI AND JULES LEDESMA

The wedding of Assunta de Rossi to politician Jules Ledesma was one of the most controversial unions in showbiz. De Rossi's family disapproved of the relationship and sister Alessandra was vocal with her sentiments about the couple. It was one of the most expensive weddings in the industry. The bridal car was bought and shipped to the Philippines from New York for P5 million. De Rossi wore a gown created by high-fashion designer Vera Wang and a crystal-studded veil made by popular Filipino designer Rhett Ealla. It was considered the largest society gathering in the country in 2007. The principal sponsors included President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, along with then House Speaker Jose de Venecia and business tycoon Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco. The secondary sponsors were composed of close friends of the bride, who were all popular actresses. The wedding became the culmination of all the hardships they went through as an unmarried couple.

7. MIKEE COJUANGCO AND DODOT JAWORSKI

As with traditional high-society weddings, Peping Couangco Jr. and Tingting Cojuangco announced the marriage of their daughter Mikee to Dodot Jaworski. The wedding evoked the past yet carried touches of the future, with the traditional “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” Both families were supportive and the ceremony became a gathering of high profile people from business, politics and the showbiz.

8. KORINA SANCHEZ AND MAR ROXAS

Mar Roxas and Korina Sanchez were stet for five years before sealing the deal with marriage vows. Their highly publicized wedding became the talk of the town because of the preparations and the money involved. There were also allegations that the marriage was a political strategy for Roxas, as he initially planned to run in the 2010 presidential elections. But the couple did not seem fazed. The wedding took place at the Sto. Domingo Parish in Quezon City and was open to the public. The celebration was Filipiniana themed and the attendees came in traditional Filipino attire. Roxas wore a barong and Sanchez wore a Filipiniana-inspired off-the-shoulder gown without a veil. The wedding was attended by prominent figures in politics and media.

9. VILMA SANTOS AND RALPH RECTO

The wedding of Vilma Santos and Ralph Recto was a union of stellar figures in showbiz and politics. Santos is known as the Star for All Seasons and has a huge following from the Filipino audiences. Recto, on the other hand, came from a prominent political family from the province of Batangas. Their wedding which was open to the public created a huge buzz. Being one of the country's most popular and respected actresses, the people wanted to know every move and possibly every major decision taken and made by Santos. This popularity became one of the reasons why her marriage to Ralph Recto was highly publicized. Another reason why it became talk of the town was because the marriage was not only about Santos marrying some typical guy but a prominent member in society. Their lavish wedding created media frenzy and the public wanted to know every bit of detail that went with the occasion. This wedding proves that there's no such thing as keeping it low in the worlds of showbiz and politics.

10. LORNA TOLENTINO AND RUDY FERNANDEZ

Their love story has surpassed many challenges and their union only became the start of better things for Rudy Fernandez and Lorna Tolentino. They were the ultimate showbiz couple. He was one of the best action stars of the country and she was an award-winning actress. It seemed like the stars aligned and they were made for each other. There were never rumors of Fernandez or Tolentino philandering and they just seemed to ooze with love and affection for each other. But just like any other celebrity couple, they wanted to keep their private lives private and arranged a secret marriage in Jaen, Nueva Ecija. The wedding, however, was exposed to the public and the marriage was found null because of lack of documents. The couple was not fazed and was joined in a civil wedding in Quezon City on 1 June 1983, with then Mayor Adelino Rodriguez officiating the ceremony. After 9 years, the couple faced the altar in a lavish church wedding and were together for more or less 25 years.
